Is it necessary to have a twitter or facebook app on the ipod touch?

This is a good question. I wondered this myself before I got my itouch. While it’s true that you can go to those sites using safari, it is better to use the app. Why? Because the app is written such that it is optimized for display on the smaller itouch screen. The apps also run faster for the same reason. they are optimized for the itouch and don’t have all the cr@p a full blown web app does.

Through the app its different and easier + faster and simple with options like if you go on the app it will say would you like automatic Notifications then whenever anyone saying ‘comments on your status it will come u pon you’re iPod Touch
